Behavioral science offers several ideas about what it takes to get people to vaccinate. The three main propositions are that vaccination results from: (1) what people think and feel, (2) social processes, and (3) direct behavior change. Colleagues and I previously reviewed the evidence for these propositions and put forward what has become known as the Increasing Vaccination Model.
